1987年，臺灣解嚴，各種議題的改革與民主化聲浪四起。一群被稱作野百合世代的學生，與社會工作者，希望政府重新制定一部符合臺灣現況的憲法。從1990年開始，開啟了長達一年的「制憲運動」，影響臺灣憲政至今。
然而，在1991年的5月，調查局逮捕了四位青年，其中一位當時仍是就讀清大歷史所的學生。他們被以懲治叛亂條例起訴，最重可以「二條一」判刑，此為唯一死刑，此舉引起深藏在民間的白色恐怖之懼。學生於校園串聯罷課，社會各界進行聲援，進駐臺北火車站，挺身抗議。立法院更於九日內，廢除實行長達42年的懲治叛亂條例！
《末代叛亂犯》是由四位清大學生拍攝及製作的紀錄片。欲透過深度訪談與歷史文獻爬梳，重現1991年所發生的「獨台會案」過程及其後續發展。

Martial law was lifted in Taiwan in 1987. Since then, all kinds of reform and democratization were raised. However, in May 1991, four young people were arrested by the Bureau of Investigation (MJIB). This had generated the fear in society and led to the so-called “White Terror.”
“The Last Insurrection” is a film made by four students from National Tsing Hua University. Through in-depth interviews and researches, the film clearly recurred the Taiwan Independent Association (TIA) Incident in 1991.
導演簡介

廖建華，台灣嘉義人，畢業於清大化工所，現為獨立影像工作者。高中開始接觸文學，現代詩為主要創作，直到研究所接觸電影才開始學習拍片，尤其對過去的世界或觀點，能被以影音的方式保存，感到興奮。至今仍在學習用影像說故事，並努力使之成為一種行動。

Jian-Hua Liao, born in Chiayi, Taiwan. A master of Chemical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University. Interested in literature since high school and compose contemporary poems. During his study in graduate program, began to learn about movies and start filming. Highly interested in history and love to tell stories via films and wish to make filming into part of activism.
